Fleabag

For this project, I aimed to create an illustration for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s show, Fleabag, with the intention of uploading it to TikTok. I observed that despite its immense popularity as a BBC hit show, Fleabag lacked a significant number of artworks associated with it.

The overall style I adopted is rough, reflecting the protagonist’s self-perception of incompleteness and her constant evaluation and transformation of opinions. The specific scene chosen is inspired by an iconic moment in the second season, as I believed it would enhance the video’s recognisability. The background colours are pink and gold. The pink colour represents the female narrative, while the golden halo behind the character ‘Fleabag’ alludes to the religious theme explored throughout the show.
