I then employed vibrant colours (detailed on the following page) to highlight the text on each poster, ensuring it stands out from the featured art pieces. This approach will enhance the appeal of the posters and billboards, attracting a broader audience, including younger generations.
As part of the pitching process, the representatives wanted to see what the design would look like as a landscape billboard.
National Library of Scotland
Brief: Design a visual brand for the National Library of Scotland’s “Collections in Focus” exhibition.
An illustration commission for the Studio Ghibli film, Howl’s Moving Castle. This project commenced as an illustrative poster and evolved into a concept for a book jacket.
This sub-brand centres around camera lens framing. Bordering each poster with this frame will establish brand continuity, even when using vastly different art pieces, and create a strong visual connection to the exhibition’s theme.
