The Last of Us

Illustration of Pedro Pascal’s character in the hit tv show ‘The Last of Us’. The shows has many dark themes, being set in a post-apocalyptic world where a mutated fungus can turn people into zombie-like creatures.

For this illustration, I centred around the theme of good and evil. In his world, Pascal’s character, Joel, is perceived as a villain, yet he is genuinely doing good by transporting a teenager across the United States with the potential to save the world. He is constantly battling his true nature and the person he aspires to be, which I depicted by showing the ‘growth’ emanating from his head. Ultimately, the show revolves around nature reclaiming control, which explains why the growth resembles branches aand extends upwards, almost resembling horns.
